We provide a comprehensive autism assessment and diagnosis for children, young people and adults throughout Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire. Find out more about our services below.
Children and young people
Cost between £800 - £1000
The assessment involves an initial parental telephone appointment, followed by a detailed developmental history using the Autism Diagnostic Interview Revised (ADI-R) framework. A subsequent home visit will be arranged to administer an Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and, if necessary, a nursery or primary school observation will be scheduled. The results of the autism assessment will be detailed in a comprehensive report, discussed fully, with the opportunity to amend. We can also provide copies to GP/school doctor or other concerned persons if required.
Adults
Initial screening assessment by telephone, followed by home visit appointment to provide a more comprehensive assessment. This should include an accurate developmental history and the possibility of liaison with family members. In addition, an ADOS will be administered. The results of the autism assessment will be detailed in a comprehensive report and discussed fully with personalised amendments if required. Copies can be provided for GP or other parties on request.

Home visits
A personalised approach
We offer home visits to facilitate feelings of safety and comfort for the child, young person or adult being assessed. Initial contact will be via telephone to arrange a screening interview, followed by home visit appointments. We aim to complete the autism assessment and report within four - six weeks.
If an autism spectrum diagnosis is given, we will signpost you to the available resources and services within your local area.
